Standardized hazard odds ratios and 95% CI’s of associations between baseline measures of socioeconomic status and six-year incident dementia from discrete time survival models, adjusting for demographic characteristics, socioeconomic status and health-related dementia risk factors (Model 2), National Health and Aging Trends Study (2013–2018, n = 3785). Sampling weights were used to represent the population of Medicare beneficiaries aged 66 years and older in 2012. Associations between income and incident dementia were estimated using piecewise linear regression allowing the slope to differ for participants < 500% poverty threshold and participants ≥500% poverty threshold. Education was measured as < High School, High School, some college, and ≥ Bachelor’s degree
