Have 2 or more of the following signs or symptoms: • New or increased cough • New or increased sputum production • Fever (>38°C) • Pleuritic chest pain • New or increased findings on chest examination | 1. Residents not expected to live longer than 30 d (from enrolment) 2. Residents who have had a previous anaphylactic or allergic reaction to quinolones 3. Residents who have not provided consent 4. Residents with advanced directives stating that they are not to be transferred to hospital for treatment |
