Comparison of the causes for ARVs switching or discontinuation in senior and younger HIV infected patients. Causes of switching/discontinuation of antiretrovirals regimen in 1220 HIV positive patients on HAART followed up in the II Division of Infectious Diseases, L Sacco University Hospital (Milan - Italy) between Jan 2007 - Aug 2009. Overall switching rate 11.53 per 100 person-years (95%CI 10.4-12.66). Switching/discontinuation for toxic effects significantly higher in elderly (χ2 test p 0,0382)
